The blog has been quiet a few days while I bust out a novella (Spooooky Funfair) and a short story (Ant Tower) simultaneously, so I thought it would be alright to put up something a bit older. I wrote this piece in December ‘07 and liked it a lot, so I submitted it to a local mag. It became my first ever rejection. Go me!
Re-reading it now, I can’t see too much I’d change. Maybe make the central themes a little less blunt and obvious, but that’s the limit. I haven’t actually figured out anywhere that might like to publish it, so I might as well share. Any feedback you can give, as well as advice on any magazines or publications that like this sort of thing, would be massively appreciated.
Anyway, enjoy!
